Put Your Illness Behind You!

When I was dealing with my diagnosis and treatments, I found that I was sometimes unable to participate in life. Social activities, eating properly, keeping a positive mindset and managing anxiety were challenging.

I got to a point where I decided I was not going to let my illness stop me from moving forward in life. Enjoying my family and friends, going back to school, starting my business, and creating a lifestyle that works became a priority.

Once I got clear about what was important to me, I was able to make the necessary changes that I needed to put my illness behind me. It wasn’t always easy and I certainly did not make perfect progress every moment. It did allow me to move my illness from being front-and-centre of my life to the background where it was much more manageable and less intrusive.
