Let me tell you why. Although the Badass has always been inside me, I didn’t recognize it and own it until recently. Staring down my cancer diagnosis, Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma (PCNSL), a high-morbidity, fast acting type of cancer, was a call to my Badass self.
Although cancer brought it to the forefront, the Badass me has always been in there. I set out at age 18 with a high school education to get my first full-time corporate job. Completing my Human Resources Professional designation through evening studies while working full time, led me down a path to a successful career in senior Human Resources roles.

In 2015, my partner and I sold everything in Canada and moved to the Caribbean to buy and live on a 46 ft. sailing catamaran, and run a term charter business. After several years of vacationing in St. Maarten, we hatched our plan on how to achieve our desire of living on our beautiful island for several months each year. It felt both scary and exciting to finally launch ourselves into this new and different lifestyle and business. Not only was it a huge change from many years in the corporate world, we had to learn how to sail and maintain a floating condo! We worked extremely hard to build and run this business, surviving through the challenges of hurricane damage, cancer treatments, and of course covid. These experiences were challenging, and the rewards were that we enriched our lives by meeting many lifetime friends throughout the yachting and island community.

Badass me climbed to the peaks of Kilimanjaro and Machu Picchu on epic trips with my daughter, Katie. She inspired me to join her on these travels to Africa and South America. I am forever grateful to her for leading me on these unique and once in a life time adventures that we experienced together. I’ve backpacked on an amazing trip to Italy with my son, Joey, during which we toured the spectacular sites of Rome, Venice and Florence, and hiked the beautiful coastline of Cinque Terre. His curiosity and love of exploring made for the most fantastic Mama and son trip ever.
My partner and I spent many years as part of Team Purple, a road cycling team dedicated to raising money for Tour for Kids, which is an organization supporting camps for kids and their families who are dealing with cancer. This amazing group of people raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years by participating in cycling events in Ontario and the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton, covering up to 800 km in 4 days. The spirit, camaraderie and huge hearts of these individuals made us feel extremely lucky to be a part of this group.
The last 3 years have been spent successfully completing a rigorous self-directed distance learning Natural Nutrition diploma, in order to become a Registered Holistic Nutritionist.
Which brings me to the main focus of this message.
I can help you build personalized nutritional and lifestyle strategies. I have personal experience with the physical, mental and emotional challenges of cancer diagnosis before, during and after treatments. Through my studies, I have gained knowledge of the role nutrition plays in rebalancing the body, reducing the risk of illness, and how it factors into connections between physical disease and emotional health. I also understand the importance of building the right lifestyle practices to reduce and manage stress.
I am a Badass. Let me help you become one too.
